Santana has participated in more than 70 group exhibitions and 8 personal exhibitions, inside and outside Cuba, including the United States of America. She has received several awards and distinctions, among which the Gitana Tropical and the Antonia Eiriz distinction recently awarded stand out.

His work since its beginnings has been subject to constant exploration, both of themes and techniques, standing out for his effort in representing an aesthetic of poverty where the textures and symbolism of a parallel world to which few grant importance stand out.
